What is a Host Family?

  • Host families must be able to host 1 or more players in May, June, and possibly into July.
  • Players will need a bedroom, access to shower, kitchen, & parking.
  • Accommodations must be in the Columbia area, local to the SCUFC SEFL & West complexes.
  • Players perform best in a safe, welcoming family environment, these bonds can last a lifetime.
  • The elite college players can become role models & mentors to players within our club and your household.
  • Families should be aware that players will be up early or returning late from training.  Road games are played in the evening times,  so players will return in the early hours of the morning.
  • Our players are all background-checked.

What do I need to provide the player(s)?

  • Private Air-conditioned Bedroom: Ensure they have their own comfortable space.
  • Towels and Linens: Supply clean towels and bed linens.
  • Laundry Access: Allow them to use laundry facilities.
  • Shared Bathroom: Players can share the bathroom facilities.
  • Refrigerator Space: Provide a designated spot in the fridge for their items.

  • Welcoming Atmosphere: Foster an open and inviting home environment.

What don't I need to provide the player(s)?

  • Transportation: Players are responsible for their transportation, whether carpooling or using their vehicles.
  • Food/Meals: The team will supply post-game meals (home and away) and away pre-game meals. You're not required to cook but should allow access to your kitchen and fridge for their cooking/storage.
  • Money: Do not provide players with cash, as it could risk their amateur status in college.
  • Housekeeping: Players should clean up after themselves, do their laundry, and respect your home and property.
